Nurturing Every Child's Unique Journey

An Educational Vision for Children's Future

I’m Ranjitha and I’m a mother of a 3-year-old. Like any parent, I was looking for how I can give the best education to my son. I was looking for a school with a curriculum that focusses on the child. One that primarily incorporates the best of Montessori principles such as hands on learning and individual development while not completely doing away with the conventional method of learning followed in schools today. I believe this is the best way to encourage my son’s curiosity to reach his full potential.

As my son was growing up, I learned about the Montessori method and followed that with him at home. I saw the benefits that it brought in him in just 3 years. I didn’t want to let all that go to waste during the most important development years of his life.

I founded Proton Academy in Nagercoil precisely to give the education that I feel is best for my son. It’s a place that will follow a unique mix of Montessori philosophy with the goal of helping every child reach his or her full potential following their own unique path.

Our academy provides a nurturing environment where children create, learn, and grow. Our play-based curriculum fosters creativity and a love of learning. We aim to build a strong foundation for future academic success and personal growth.

Our Philosophy

Child Centric Curriculum

The learning process is child-led. Children are free to explore and choose any activity and learn in their own pace. However, they will be guided, assessed and monitored with an individual planner for each student.

Balance of Freedom and Logical Limits

Our classrooms are carefully and thoughtfully designed to encourage children to move around freely and choose their own work, within reasonable limits to facilitate their independence, self-reliance and adapt quickly to unfamiliar situations.

Self-Correction and Self-Assessment

Materials are designed in such a way that the errors made by the kids can be corrected by themselves. Students learn to look critically at their work and become good at recognizing, correcting and learning from their errors.

Multi-Age Grouping

Children from the ages of 2 to 6 will work together in the same classroom enabling younger children to learn from the older ones and experience new challenges through observation. Older children reinforce their learning by teaching concepts they have already mastered, develop leadership skills, and serve as role models.

Experiential Learning

The materials in our classrooms are so beautifully prepared and attractive that the child is drawn to work with that with their hands. The hand takes information in a concrete way and after getting a deeper understanding, the child is given workbooks for abstract learning.

Theme Based Learning

We have eight theme books covering various areas like food and nutrition, plant kingdom, animal kingdom, transportation etc. our curriculum is framed in such a way that each theme is allotted for each month.

Structured Environment

Our classrooms are designed to facilitate your child’s logical and orderly thinking by having all the materials in its own place kept in an accessible open shelf.

"Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment."

Parent Info

Below, you will find a list of frequently asked questions from parents that may be helpful to review.

We have no uniform for the kids. Children are requested to come in their comfortable dress for them to sit and work with our materials.

  • For playgroup and Nursery – 9.30am to 12.30pm
  • For LKG and UKG- 9.30 am to 2.30pm

We follow blended learning approach which is 80% montessori method and remaining 20% Is just bridging the gap between montessori method and traditional method , while not sacrificing on any of the montessori principles.

In traditional education, the teacher generally stands at the front of classroom, decided what the children need to learn. In montessori education, there is a dynamic relationship between the child, adult(teacher) and the learning environment. The child decides what to learn today.

Children can easily adapt to traditional method of learning as we are already training them with books and worksheets in addition to working with montessori materials.

Each child’s progress is assessed by observation and recorded in our app every day. The progress will be discussed during Parent teachers’ meetings.
